Another core principle at Wild Peaks Collective. We encourage children to solve their own problems and learn from their experiences, helping them build resilience. This prepares them to face life’s challenges with confidence and adaptability, cultivating a mindset of perseverance and growth. 🌱

When thinking about all of the things that we wanted to prioritize as our core principles, @drbeckyatgoodinside ‘s book Good Inside really resonated with what we are trying to inspire. She talks about prioritizing resilience over happiness for our kids. About how setting them up for happiness alone isn’t sustainable if they aren’t equipped to fail and bounce back stronger. Learning how to handle failure builds resilience. As Dr. Kennedy puts it, “Setting happiness as the goal compels us to solve our kids’ problems rather than equip them to solve their own.”

We knew this had to become a principle because we believe that a strong mindset comes from facing and overcoming struggles. Yes, it’s uncomfortable to let our kids fail. It’s easier to do things for them to avoid their struggle. But we aren’t serving them long-term by doing this. We believe in teaching and supporting emotional regulation through tough moments to promote real growth. And that, right there, is where the magic happens. 🌟
